We are proud to announce that AmaWrap has been deemed “hip-healthy” by the International Hip Dysplacia Institute!
AmaWrap has been deemed “hip-healthy”! To provide an excerpt from the official letter sent to us from the International Hip Dysplacia Institute, what this means is that:
“The IHDI recognises that AmaWrap has developed products that consider the importance of healthy hip development during infancy. This is especially important during the early stages of hip development in the first few months after birth.”
The “M” / “Froggy” Position
Still confused over what that means? Please see the pictures below. When sat in the wrap, babys knees should be higher than his bottom, like the letter M or like the “froggy” position. What that does is it ensures that babys hip joint is sat firmly in the hip socket (which at this point is more like cartilage and the fact that its softer makes hip dysplacia more likely)
You can keep baby in this position in the wrap for as long as you need. When baby is in the womb he is naturally curled up, and he finds this position comfortable and soothing. Remember that you will still be taking him out for nappy changes and feeding, which is ample time for him to get a good stretch in!
